I graduated in Genetic and Biotechnology at the University “Claude Bernard” of Lyon (France) in 2010. During these studies, I did a year at the Università Degli Studi of Milan with the ERASMUS exchange program and did my internship in the INRA-UCBL-EPHE laboratory of “Retrovirus and compared pathology” during which I studied envelope’s glycoprotein of the JSRV retrovirus using the in vivo model Drosophila melanogaster.

Research activity

I worked for two years (2011/2013) as a research biologist in the INRA laboratory in Orléans (France) studying the phylogeography of Megastigmus spermotrophus associated with the Douglas in his original zone. I moved to Italy in 2014 and graduated in Biology at the Università Degli Studi di Milano Bicocca in 2017. I joined the IRCCS Carlo Besta Neurological Institute in the Unit of Medical Genetics and Neurogenetics for my internship, working on the characterization of neuronal cells models derived from patients with a mutation in the OPA I gene causing Dominant Optic Atrophy. I continued my research in the same laboratory with a fellowship (2017/2021), studying experimental models to tackle Pearson Syndrome. Since 2022, I am a health researcher and I am focused on studying neurodegenerative mitochondrial diseases (LHON, DOA, Pearson) using in vitro models such as iPSC-differentiated neurons and brain-eyes organoids.

Topics of interest

  • In vitro models
  • Mitochondrial neurodegenerative diseases
  • Retinic and brain organoids.
