Postgraduate degree in Biology applied to Biomedical Research with honours at the Università Statale of Milan in 2011 and qualified as Biologist in 2013. I attended the Molecular Neurogenetics Unit of the IRCCS Carlo Besta Institute of Milan for the preparation of the Three-year degree thesis in Biological Sciences from October 2008 to February 2009 and from April 2010 to March 2011 for the subsequent internship which ended with the achievement of the Specialist Degree.

 

Research activity

Since October 2011 I have been working at the same OU, under the direction of Dr. Barbara Garavaglia, dealing with the diagnostics of movement disorders. During these years I have developed my skills in the field of molecular biology applied to diagnostics and broadened my knowledge in the bioinformatics field. Since 2014, with the arrival of the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) platforms in the institute, I have been dealing with the development and analysis of custom panels to offer a complete diagnostic package. I liaise with the referring doctors for periodic reanalysis of unsolved cases to offer an updated diagnosis. I have 32 scientific publications to my credit, 3 of which as first author name.
