BIOLOGIST
SC Neurologia 4 - Neuroimmunologia e Malattie Neuromuscolari
(italian version)

I have been working in the Foundation since 2015 in the laboratory of Preclinical Neuroimmunology. During these years, I’ve developed management and technical skills in molecular, cellular and experimental biology.

Research activity

My research activity has been focused on the pathogenetic mechanisms of autoimmune diseases, like myasthenia gravis, and on new immunomodulatory compounds, through the use of cellular and experimental models. In particular, my research projects are focused on:

  • use of probiotic bacteria e new biological compounds for the modulation of immune system
  • set up of in vitro techniques for detection of circulating autoantibodies in the serum of patients with neurological autoimmune diseases and for the analysis of antigen-specific immune response
  • study of immune response in patients with myasthenia gravis after treatments for the identification of biomarkers of response.
During my experience at the Foundation, I presented and discussed my research activity at national and international neuroimmunology congresses and I collaborated with Italian and foreign researchers.

Topics of interest

  • Neuroimmunology
  • Autoimmunity
  • Miastenia Gravis
