In the course of my studies, I had the opportunity to study two model animals Dhrosophila melanogaster and Danio rerio (Zebrafish), acquiring expertise in the manipulation of eggs and embryos at a more advanced stage of Zebrafish.

Gene cloning in plasmid vectors. DNA extraction. DNA purification. Gel electrophoresis of nucleic acids. Preparation of antisense RNA probes. Generation of linear template DNA for in vitro transcription. Gel extraction and purification. Bacterial transformation. Microinjection of cap-RNA into Zebrafish embryos. Whole-mount and section in situ hybridisation.

Whole-mount immunohistochemistry. PCR and Real Time PCR (qPCR) analyses.

Research Activity

In recent years, I have been working on developmental epileptic encephalopathies from a genetic point of view using genetic panels and other Next Generation Sequencing techniques, as well as Whole Exome Sequencing (WES), gaining autonomy in the use of analytical techniques and in the acquisition and interpretation of biological results.
