I graduated in Biology at the University of Milano-Bicocca in 2017. My thesis project was carried out at the Istituto Auxologico Italiano, in the Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics laboratory, where I worked in the field of human genetics.

 

Research activities

My Master thesis focused on the study of multiple methylation defects (MLID, MultiLocus Imprinting Disturbances) in patients with Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome.

In 2018 I enrolled in the international doctoral program in “Molecular and Experimental Medicine” at Humanitas University where I worked in the field of human genetics and molecular biology applied to primary prostate cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. In particular, my thesis, which took place at the Laboratory of Medical Genetics and RNA Biology, focuses on the analysis of cell-free DNA in peripheral blood samples as an early biomarker in localized prostate cancer.

In 2021 I began my work experience at the laboratory of Medical Genetics and Neurogenetics at Istituto Besta. My activity is focused on the development of third generation sequencing techniques (Long Read Sequencing) applied to the study of complex tandem repeats in neurological diseases such as CANVAS (Cerebellar Ataxia, Neuropathy and Vestibular Areflexia Syndrome) or NIID (Neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease).
