I am a neuropsychologist and senior researcher at the Fondazione I.R.C.C.S. Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta (FINCB) of Milan. I obtained a master's degree in Psychology in 2005 and a PhD in Neuroscience at the V-S San Raffaele University of Milan in 2010. Between 2008 and 2009 I was research associate at the Department of Psychological Medicine and Psychiatry of King's College London, and PhD candidate at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig where I became skilled in analyzing data of structural MRI and EEG. 

 

Research activity

From 2011 to 2014, I contributed to the creation of the neuropsychology service of FINCB and participated in clinical and research activities the service.

Since 2015 I have been involved in neuropsychological assessment of patients with motor neuron disease and frontotemporal dementia at the Motor Neurone Disease Center of the UOC Neurology III of the FINCB. In 2019 I became a researcher of the FINCB.

My research activities are mainly focused on the study of the cognitive and behavioral profiles of patients with neurodegenerative diseases and chronic pain, with the aim to identify risk factors and anatomical correlates of cognitive-behavioral alterations. I supervise PhD candidates and trainees. I am Review Editor of Frontiers in Neuroscience and Frontiers in Translational Research in Dementia.
