At the beginning of my job career, I dealt with morphological characterization of several human type of cancer at Pathologic Anatomy Unit of Fondazione Macchi Hospital in Varese. Afterwards I investigated about some aspects of ischemia into rat and guinea pig animal models and I took part in the teaching of pharmacology at Pharmacology Institute of Insubria University in Varese.

 

Reserach activity

Since 2012 I work at Fondazione Besta collaborating with dr. Costanza Lamperti and other colleagues in the field of Mitochondrial Diseases. I got involved in numerous projects concerning preclinical characterization of cellular and animal models, and in validation of new biomarkers and mutations, in several clinical trials, in development of the new international Registry of Mitochondrial Diseases (Genomit Project), insertion of data, writing of scientific papers or part of books, tutoring of newly recruited staff. I attended national and international conferences and I took part in seminars and refresh courses.
