I graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology  from Faculty of Pharmacy of Università degli Studi di Milano in 2002 and I passed the licensure exam to practice as a pharmacist in the same University in 2003.

 

Research activity

Immediately after my graduation, I began my research activity in Fondazione Besta, initially in Laboratorio Analisi and then in U.O. Neurologia II,  carrying out projects regarding brain tumors, using in vitro and in vivo models. In 2007-09 I performed  a radiobiology study collaborating with the S.C. di Radioterapia of Ospedale Niguarda Ca’ Granda di Milano. Moreover, since 2007 I attended the school of specialization in Clinical Pathology at Università degli Studi di Pavia, obtaining the specialization  in 2012. Since 2009 I have been employed in U.O.C. Neuropatologia, where I have been involved in diagnostic procedures of histopathology of brain tumors. My research focuses on  the study of new molecular markers useful for clinical practice. I have participated in many projects regarding CNS tumors, collaborating with other units of the Institute (Patologia clinica e genetica medica, Radioterapia, Neurochirurgia II, Neuroncologia Molecolare) and external research groups (Hôpital Universitaire Pitié Salpêtrière di Parigi, Università di Torino), and in national and international projects, as The Cancer Genome Atlas of Lower Grade Gliomas and the study on Glioblastoma Long-Term Survivors with the sponsorship of Alliance Against Cancer.
