BIOLOGIST

(italian version)

I graduated in Biomolecular Biology with an experimental thesis on the application of the MLPA technique in the study of genetic Parkinsonisms carried out in the laboratory of Movement Disorders directed by Dr. Garavaglia. Since then I have continued my work in the same laboratory, where my research activity is mainly aimed at the genetic study of patients affected by Movement Disorders.

Research activity

In recent years, the introduction of next-generation sequencing (NGS) has contributed to an exponential genetic knowledge growth: I was thus been able to expand my technical knowledge and learn new bioinformatics skills. My activity includes a continuous updating of the literature to offer a complete diagnostic package and to allow an on-going review of unsolved clinical cases, thanks also to the continuous dialogue with the referring physicians. During my activity in the laboratory I also have the task of coordinating the activities of students and interns, stimulating my professional and human growth. My work takes place both at the PC and at the lab benches and the continuous updates in the field of neuroscience and the collaborations with other groups allowing me to acquire new knowledge.
