In 2012, I obtained a master’s degree in psychology (with a dissertation on crossover effect in hemispatial neglect), and, in 2017, a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Pavia. After graduation, I did an internship at Neuropsychological Laboratory at Niguarda Hospital in Milan where I worked in the field of neuropsychological evaluation and rehabilitation of patients with acquired brain injury.

Research activity

In 2014, I received a scholarship from IRCCS Fondazione Santa Lucia (Rome) to work on the modulation of the anosognosia for hemiplegia with transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS).

After, I started my PhD gaining significant experience in behavioural tasks with healthy subjects and neurological populations. During a visiting period of one year, I joined the Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh where I improved my skills also working with cerebral modulation techniques.

Before joining the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Neurologico C. Besta, I worked between the University of Pavia and Niguarda Hospital in Milan as a researcher and neuropsychologist conducting experiments (both behavioural and with different techniques) on patients with disorders of consciousness and stroke patients manifesting neuropsychological impairments mainly concerning body representation and visuo-perceptual defects. In 2019, I joined the Besta Institute to deepen my knowledge of consciousness alteration following acquired brain injuries. I am now a researcher mainly involved in research activities with patients with disorders of consciousness.
