BIOLOGIST
SC Neurologia 5 - Neuropatologia
(italian version)

I graduated in Molecular Biology at the University of Parma in 2014 and qualified as professional biologist the same year. In 2017 I got a second level Master in "Hematopoietic stem cells and regenerative medicine" at the University of Parma (Department of Medicine and Surgery).

Research activity

From 2015 to 2016 I worked at the Nuclear Medicine Department of the University Hospital of Parma, where I was involved in Quality Assurance System management, cell labeling procedures, preparation and quality control of the main SPECT and PET radiopharmaceuticals, design/ production of new radiolabeled molecules.

In 2017 I obtained a fellowship at the Immunology and Molecular Oncology Laboratory of Veneto Institute of Oncology (IOV), where I had the opportunity to study genetic variants involved in esophageal cancer onset and search for potential tumor progression biomarkers.

In 2018 I have joined the Neurology 5 - Neuropathology Laboratory of IRCCS Foundation - Carlo Besta Neurological Institute, where I am currently carrying out research activities in the field of degenerative dementias (Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementias). In particular, I perform mutational analysis of causal genes and susceptibility factors for dementia through a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) approach.

Topics of interest

  • Neurodegenerative dementias
  • Genetics
  • Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)
