Presentazione:

BIOTECHNOLOGIST
SC Neurologia 2 - Neuroncologia
(italian version)

From the beginning, my research activity was focused on the areas of immunology and neuroimmunology, with a bachelor’s and master's thesis internships in the laboratories of Prof. Donatella Taramelli (Department of Public Health-Microbiology-Virology, University of Milan) and Dr. Gianvito Martino (Neuroimmunology Unit, San Raffaele Scientific Institute), respectively.

Research activity

In 2007, I moved to the laboratory directed by Dr. Rosetta Pedotti (Neuroimmunology Unit, Besta Neurological Institute), where I did a PhD and then postdoctoral training focused on the study of the pathogenetic mechanisms of autoimmunity of the central nervous system (CNS), with particular attention directed to the role of allergic components and prolactin hormone.

Since 2019, I have held a position as a Biomedical Researcher at the Molecular Neuro-Oncology Unit, where I coordinate research projects focused on the study of the phenotype and mechanisms of activation of T cells and sterile inflammatory components in autoimmune and oncological diseases of the CNS, such as multiple sclerosis and glioblastoma, to identify novel therapeutic strategies for these diseases. In the course of my research activities, I have received funding from the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Foundation (FISM).

Topics of interest

  • Neuroimmunology
  • Lymphocytes
  • Sterile inflammation
